Chloe Flockart has worked in the WA Arts industry since 2010 and UK Arts industry since 2016, specialising in puppetry, costume and prop construction, performance for screen and theatre. She is a skilled visual artist, writer, director, and mentor, receiving an Exception Talent Visa to the UK after recommendation from the Arts Council of England for her contributions to the arts scene of the North East of the UK and recognition as a young leader in her field.

Chloe Flockart currently practices as a Community Artist, meaning the focus of her work is creating with small communities to share their stories, experiences, or increase their skills and access to arts and culture activities.

Life and Limb Puppets, UK

DRAGON, Director, Co-writer, Designer, Puppet construction 2019-2023. Created in collaboration with the Hard of Hearing community and Comfrey project, an innovative new work for children combining projection and puppetry. Currently touring the UK.

Public art/Community engagement

Painting with Light, 2022

6 month community engagement project resulting in a walking tour of a regional town with animation, stories, and soundtracks made by and based on local histories. Chloe was the lead artists on this project, managing the roll out in community, creating the tour content and animation, designing the projections, and building out a specialised custom tricycle to deliver tours in the community for 1 month.

Merredin Sculpture Trail, 2021

5 month Community engagement project with WA artist Lewis Horne. Chloe managed the roll out of workshops focused on skilling locals in Welding and designing and creating ephemeral sculptures to be placed on display as part of the Gateway festival Merredin.

WA Museum Boola Bardip, City Life gallery entry statement community engagement and design 2018-2020

Working with over 200 young people from across WA to create elements of a giant digital collage of the banksia woodlands out of waste materials and rubbish, highlighting the impacts of urban development on fragile ecosystems. Chloe was the lead artist on the project in-charge of designing and delivering workshops, documenting public creations, and creating a large digital collage 6.5 by 3.2 metres to be printed and overlaid onto and entry wall with draws for young people to explore the banksia woodlands and consider small scale positive interventions they could take to ensue the enduring existence of these fragile ecosystems.

Meridian Regional Arts Inc.

Chloe is the lead grant writer and project coordinator for Meridian Regional Arts Inc. As one of the founding members of Meridian, Chloe’s passion is designing and delivering programs that allow regional people the opportunity to experience high quality art experiences, expand opportunities for local artists, and allow regional people the opportunity to directly contribute to the arts landscape of their community. Chloe was nominated for Community Citizen of the Year for her outstanding constitutions to her local community.
